Uranus Retrograde in Gemini: September 10, 2026—February 8, 2027
On September 10th, Uranus stations retrograde at 5 degrees and 41 minutes of Gemini. And for the first time since it entered this sign, the great awakener slows down.
Here is what most people do not understand about Uranus retrograde. When Uranus is direct, it is the force that shakes us out of complacency. It delivers change we did not plan for, liberation we did not ask for, breakthroughs that arrive fully formed and cannot be undone. When Uranus is direct and aspecting a sensitive point in your chart, unexpected things happen — and they happen for your liberation, even when they do not feel that way in the moment.
When Uranus goes retrograde, something shifts. The planet is not gone. It is integrating. It slows down, turns inward, and gives us the chance to actually understand the changes that have been taking place in our lives. The five months of Uranus retrograde are the five months when we can finally make sense of what the awakener has been doing.

This is not just any Uranus retrograde. To understand why this one is significant, you need to understand where Uranus has been and what it has been part of.
Uranus entered Gemini in April 2026 for its main long-term stay — a transit that will last through August 2032. Seven years of the great awakener in the sign of the mind, of communication, of information and how it moves. Seven years of the collective nervous system being rewired. This retrograde is the very beginning of that seven-year journey turning inward for the first time.
But there is more. Uranus in Gemini was one of the four planets that formed Barbault’s Basket — the most significant astrological configuration of the century, which peaked this summer. If you have not watched that video, the link is in the description. Uranus was not a bystander in that configuration. It was one of the four pillars. This retrograde is Uranus beginning to integrate everything that the Basket set in motion.
And there is one more layer. Uranus squared both eclipses of 2026. It squared the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on February 17th — still in Taurus at that point — and it squared the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on August 27th from Gemini. Two of 2026’s most significant lunations had Uranus at their apex, creating a T-square that delivered electric, sudden, liberating energy into both eclipse configurations.
And on October 24th — while Uranus is retrograde — it will activate the exact degree of the August 27th Pisces eclipse. If something began or ended at that eclipse for you, late October will bring a significant reactivation of that story. Pay attention to what arrives around October 24th.
The Mutable Signs and Who Feels This Most
The mutable signs feel Uranus in Gemini most directly — Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. If you have personal planets or sensitive points between 1 and 6 degrees of any mutable sign, this retrograde is speaking directly to your chart.
